What is a Level 2 electrician?

A Level 2 electrician is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) authorised under the NSW ASP Scheme to work on the connection between the electricity network and your property: the service line from the pole or pit, the point of attachment on your building, your consumer mains and your metering. In Coogee and across the Eastern Suburbs that network belongs to Ausgrid, and only an accredited Level 2 ASP can legally connect, disconnect, upgrade or repair it. The scheme has three levels: Level 1 builds the network mains and poles-and-wires, Level 2 handles the service and metering connection to your property, and Level 3 designs network assets.
